She is survived by three daughters, Carol Anne Sears of Englewood, CO, and Kathy Cranfill (Robert) and Tessa Kube (Mike), all of Lexington; a son, Errol Ralf Alger (Charlene) of Winnsboro, SC; three sisters, Doris Leonard (Homer) of Asheboro, Margie Smith of Seattle, WA, and Francis DeVrise (Vernard) of Irons, MI; a brother, Matthew Mack Fultz of Asheboro; a son-in-law, Robert Sears of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; and an expected great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Burgess; four brothers, Rainey Fultz, Clifton Fultz, Claude Fultz, and Bill Fultz; and her parents. Services were held at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle. Interment was at Forest Hill Memorial Park by Davidson Funeral Home.

He attended the First Baptist Church of Spencer, where he taught Sunday School and was on the Board of Deacons. He was a member and Past Master of the Spencer Masonic Lodge, a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the VFW, American Legion, AMVETS, and the DAV. He was a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science, in addition to having attended East Carolina College and Wilmington College, and worked as a licensed funeral director and embalmer in North Carolina for over 50 years. He represented Pierce Chemical Company in the Carolinas for 44 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was past president of the Funeral Supply Sales Association, and was a member of the North Carolina Funeral Directors' Association, the American Legion, the VFW, the National Order of Trench Rats, and the the Disabled American Veterans, in which he served as a state service director. He was also a member of the Titusville, FL Elks Lodge, Orient Lodge #395 A.F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Sudan Shrine Temple. He had been a resident of both Wilmington and Titusville, FL. He is survived by his wife, Carol Bunch Leeuwenburg; a daughter, Sue Gibson (Mike) of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, William Charles Leeuwenburg II (Dee Jaye) of Morehead City; and 2 granddaughters.
