COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA: Ronald D. Mabbitt, 63, died March 14, 2010. He was born October 31, 1946 to Glenn L. Mabbitt, Sr. and Dolly Jane Heywood Mabbitt. He retired from MidAmerican Energy Company as a primary meterman technician after over 30 years of service, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include a daughter, Corri Alt of Malvern; a son, Craig Mabbitt (Michelle) of Council Bluffs; his mother; his brothers, Jerry Mabbitt (Peg) of Council Bluffs, and Glenn Mabbitt, Sr. (Dianna) of Conway, AR; 8 grandchildren; his nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dottie Mass. He was preceded in death by his father. Inurnment with military honors was at Garner Township Cemetery under the direction of Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

MACAL, Myrtle
DECORAH, IOWA: Myrtle Lavina Severtsgaard Macal, 94, died March 2, 2008 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. She was born March 26, 1913 near Decorah to James and Lydia Brandt Severtsgaard. She was a former cook at the Aase Haugen, Novotny and Eastern Star nursing homes, and enjoyed baking, quilting, babysitting and playing cards. She was a member of Hauge Lutheran Church and the Freeport Circle. Survivors include three sons, Melvin (Nancy) Macal of McGregor, and Leo (Ardis) Macal and Edwin (Shirley) Macal, all of Decorah; a daughter, Jeanette Williams of Iowa City; two brothers, Ernest (Donna) Severtsgaard of Vinton, and James (Janice) Severtsgaard of Hampton, IL; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Macal; her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Leonard, and Walter Severtsgaard; and a sister, Jeanette Severtsgaard. Services were held at the Decorah Lutheran Church. Interment was at Hauge Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Schluter–Balik Funeral Home.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA: Agon Carl "Dutch" Mannetter, 88, died December 9, 2010. He was born May 18, 1922 in Hardin County to Carl and Mary Beckemeier Mannetter. He and his wife were farmers in the Colwell area. He was a member of Colwell United Church of Christ for over 60 years, and enjoyed doing repair work. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Wilson Mannetter; three daughters, Nancy (Bill) Ritzman of Charles City, Judy (Tracy Kuramoto) Mannetter of Chicago, and Becky (Rick Larsen) Mannetter of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by six sisters, Helene Mannetter, Helga Schnormeier, Regina Wise, Edith Owens, Ruth Meyer, and Laura Henry; four brothers, Erich, Oswald, Seigfred, and Edmund Mannetter; and his parents. Interment was at Sunnyside Memory Gardens under the direction of Hauser Funeral Home.

GREENE, IOWA: Violet Rose Wolf Martzahn, 89, died February 27, 2008 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She was born October 31, 1918 in Waverly, IA to Herman and Minnie Quilling Wolf. She was a former telephone operator, and she and her husband were farmers. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She sewed, cooked, gardened and canned, and enjoyed embroidery and watching Lawrence Welk and Daniel O'Donnell on television. Survivors include her children, Ardith (Darrell) Buss of Allison, and Delores (Delos) Adelmund and Harlan Martzahn (companion Sandra Greenlee), all of Greene; two brothers, Paul (Bernice) Wolf of Greene, and Willard (Lorene) Wolf of Nashua; 7 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Ray Martzahn; an infant son, Darrell Eugene; her parents; a brother, Raymond Wolf; and a daughter-in-law, Lynette Timbell Martzahn. Services were held at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reid's Funeral Chapel.

VICTOR, IOWA: Hertha Maschmann, 84, died July 12, 1987 at the Marengo Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Marian Sheafer of Spokane, WA; a son, Louis of Victor; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers; and a grandson. Services were held at James Lutheran Church. Interment was at the Victor Cemetery.

MATT, Dr. Joseph
BETTENDORF, IOWA: Dr. Joseph Matt, 87, died August 13, 2007. He was born January 10, 1920 in Minneapolis to Rabbi C. David and Lena Matt. He was a research chemist. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn State, and held a Ph.D. degree from Purdue University. He worked for over 20 years at Nalco Chemical, and had also worked for Merck, Sharpe and Dohme, Armour and Company, Alkydol Laboratories, and Velsicol Chemical. He held patents for several inventions. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, Phi Lambda Upsion, Sigma Xi, B'nai Brith, and the Chicago Chemists' Club, where he served as editor of the newsletter. He and his wife were longtime members of the Jackson Park Camera Club. He enjoyed politics, classical music, and playing Scrabble. He was a former resident of Downers Grove, IL. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jipson Matt; two daughters, Susan Matt and Elizabeth Turner; two sisters, Beulah Bleiberg of Springfield, VA, and Zeldah Wean of Lockport, NY; and 2 grandsons. Interment was at the Naperville Cemetery.

REMSEN, IOWA: Isidore J. Mayrose, 93, died February 29, 1996 at the Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars. He was born April 20, 1902 in Remsen to Joseph and Catherine Mormann Mayrose. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Dreckman Mayrose; three daughters, Mary Alice (Marvin) Penning of Nebraska City, NE, Florence (John) Rosenberg of Piedmont, CA, and Arlene (John) Cassidy of Golden Valley, MN; two sons, Vernon (Sandra) Mayrose of West Lafayette, IN, and Richard (Roselyn) Mayrose of Aurora, CO; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Mayrose, Josephine Thill, Catherine Bornhorst, and Anna Costello; six brothers, Joseph, Albert, Edward, Frank, Bernard, and Adolph Mayrose; and a grandson. Services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Remsen by Fisch Funeral Home.

CLINTON, IOWA: Olive Mae Mays, 85, died February 17, 2009. She was born December 5, 1923 to Frank and Irma Cowell Liby. She was a schoolteacher, and had also worked at W.T. Grant and the Clinton Drive In. She attended the Clinton Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and was active with the ladies' group. She is survived by a daughter, Rita (Paul) Reed of Clinton; two sons, George (Mary) Mays III of Belvidere, IL, and Ralph (Brenda) Mays of Clinton; two sisters, Evelyn Curiel and Dixie Jay, both of Newton, KS; two brothers, Ray Liby of Yakima, WA, and Von Liby of Clay Center, KS; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mays, Jr.; her parents; five brothers; and a granddaughter. Services were held at the Clinton Church of Christ. Interment was at Clinton Lawn Cemetery with arrangements by Lemke Funeral Home South.

McCARTHY, Sister Anita Frances
DUBUQUE, IOWA: Sr. Anita Frances McCarthy, BVM, 78, died May 12, 2007. She was born March 30, 1929 to John and Ann Harrington McCarthy. She made her first profession of religious vows with the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1951. She made her final profession in 1956. She was an elementary music and classroom teacher in Dubuque, Sioux City, Hempstead, NY, Seattle, WA, and Butte, MT, and was a parish music minister in Butte and Stockton, CA. She was a volunteer in Portland, OR. She is survived by two brothers, Msgr. John McCarthy of St. Louis, MO, and Rev. James McCarthy of Butte, MT; and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she lived for 58 years. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Marian Hall Chapel. Burial was at Mount Carmel Cemetery with arrangements by Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home.

IOWA FALLS, IOWA: Lillian Alice McCord, 86, died January 3, 2009. She was born April 17, 1922 to Vernon and Neva Templeman Donlea. She was a school teacher, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Calkins Nature Center, the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Iowa Falls Public Schools. She was a member of several bridge clubs. She is survived by her husband, Robert McCord; and two daughters, Cynthia McCord of Columbia, MO, and Patricia Brader of Cape Canaveral, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Verna; and a brother, George. Services were held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ. He was born March 5, 1934 in Chickasaw County to Thomas and Eunice Barrett Meighan. He was a longtime employee at the foundry of Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and board games. Survivors include three children, Diane (Rob Osterkamp) Kapping of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jamie (Chaun) Meighan and Teri (Stacy) Osterkamp, all of Charles City; three sisters, Dorothy Meineke of Charles City, Connie Kinsel of Evansdale, and Bev Nikolas of Osage; a brother, Robert (Joannie) Meighan of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Ann Logan Meighan; his parents; a sister, Betty Barrett; a brother, Roger Meighan; and a grandson, Jason Kapping. CORALVILLE, IOWA: Lavona M. Meister died December 6, 2002. She was born March 11, 1914 to Lester and Edith Hines. She was a former employee of the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, the outdoors, wildlife, and collecting stuffed bears. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dick Reeve of Iowa City; a sister, Eileen Schadey of Clinton; a grandson; and 2 great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest E. Meister; a son, Merrill D. Meister; her parents; five sisters; and five brothers. MOUNT AYR, IOWA: Helen Iona Dugan Mercer died February 7, 2007 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. She was born September 13, 1914 in Mount Ayr to Earl and Anna Snethen Dugan. She was a rural school teacher in Liberty Township, and was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Mount Ayr, where she was involved with the Women's Society. She was a member of the Modern Mothers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Ringgold County Hospital Auxiliary, and the Gray Ladies. She was a former Sunday School teacher, Campfire Girls leader, and officer with the Band Mothers. She volunteered at Clearview Nursing Home. She enjoyed making afghans and quilts, and wintering in Texas. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Sickels (Alvin) of Branson, MO, and Janice Fink of Glendale, AZ; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. Mercer; her parents; an infant brother, LeRoy; and an infant grandson, Jay Allen Fink. Arrangements were handled by Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home.

EMMETSBURG, IOWA: Viola Margaret Molloy, 93, died June 13, 2006 at the Emmetsburg Care Center. She was born March 11, 1913 in Emmetsburg to Patrick and Amelia Smith Molloy. She graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines. She was a World War II veteran of the Army Nurse Corps, serving in England and France. After the war, she worked at veterans' hospitals in Des Moines, Denver, CO, Lincoln, NE, and Ohio. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of the Mercy Alumni Association, the Mercy Hospital Guild, the Rosary and Altar Society, and the Bishop Drumm Guild. She was also a hospice member. Survivors include eleven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; ten siblings, Raymond Molloy, Edmund Molloy, Clarence Molloy, Charles Molloy, Loretta Molloy, Sr. Marie Molloy, BVM, Virginia Molloy, Irene McGuire, Vera Fink, and Gertrude Burns; a niece, Kathleen McGuire; and a nephew, John Burns. Services were held at Holy Family Catholic Church. Arrangements were handled by Joyce Funeral Home.

Ann Monaghan McAlexander of Fishers, IN; and a sister-in-law, Katherine Monaghan of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William J. Monaghan and John F. WAUKEE, IOWA: Herbert W. "Herb" Montis, Jr., 70, died December 11, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Des Moines, IA to Herbert Montis, Sr. and Helen Montis. He attended Drake University. He was an accountant, and worked for Hubbell Realty for 25 years. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard, and attended Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, and was a fan of the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Cubs, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Alice Montis; four sons, Bruce (Sheila) Montis of Waukee, Paul Montis and Eric Montis, both of Des Moines; and Mark (Kim) Montis of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Theresa (Denny) Lydon of Des Moines, and Helen Marie (Wayne) Taylor of Peoria, AZ; 9 grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. SIGOURNEY, IOWA: Mabel Frances Moore, 93, died December 14, 2009. She was born December 7, 1916 to Bertie Clarence and Mary Marie Woods Gee. She was employed as a cook and custodian for West Chester Public School for over 20 years. She attended West Chester United Methodist Church, and was active with the Women's Society. She was a cook for the Senior Citizens at West Chester, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was a past member of the Guild Board at Halcyon House, and enjoyed camping and making lap blankets for Halcyon House residents. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Kessel and husband EuGene of Ollie; a son, Howard Moore, Jr. of Fairfield; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard William Moore; an infant daughter, Mary Marie; her parents; five sisters; a brother; and a great-grandson, Tim Widmer. Interment was at West Chester Cemetery under the direction of Jones-Eden Funeral Home.

DES MOINES, IOWA: Thomas W. "Bill" Morris, Jr., 91, died February 27, 2010. He was born March 16, 1918 to Thomas W. Morris, Sr. and Kate Brooks Morris. He retired from Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, and was a World War II veteran. He enjoyed traveling, ham radio, and old gas engines. He was a charter member of Hawkeye Antique Acres. Survivors include a son, Tom (Sharon) Morris; a daughter, Karen Bellis; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eunice Goebel Morris; and two brothers, Rolland and Marvin Morris. Services were held at All Saints Catholic Church. MOSBO, Esther
DECORAH, IOWA: Esther Marie Thorson Mosbo, 90, died October 18, 2005 at St. Luke Nursing Home in Spencer, IA. She was born May 22, 1915 to Rev. Thomas B. and Hertha Fylpaa Thorson. She held a teaching degree from Waldorf College, and was a former elementary school teacher. She and her husband also farmed. She was a lifelong Lutheran, and a former resident of Rembrandt, IA. She was active with church and community activities, and enjoyed music. She sang with a number of different choirs, including the Pleasant View and Waldorf College choirs and Buena Vista County Women's Chorus, was a soloist, and was a also a junior choir director. Following retirement, she often attended musical programs and recitals at Luther College. Survivors include her children, Paul (Vivian) of Cortland, NY, and Rolf E. (Valerie), Erik E. (Mariellen), and Eloise (Richard) Obman, all of Rembrandt;a brother, Johan Thorson of Lakewood, CO; a sister, Hertha Hilstad of Circle, MT; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Johannes Mosbo; her parents; and a brother, Dr. Thomas Thorson. Services were held at Decorah Lutheran Church. Interment was at Little Sioux Valley Cemetery in Rembrandt, IA under the direction of Sliefert Funeral Home. Arrangements in Decorah were handled by Fjelstul Funeral Home.

She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and euchre, showing dogs, and raising racehorses. She is survived by two daughters, Antonia Brimeyer of Edina, MN, and Ann (John) Lang of East Dubuque; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Anthony Giunta and Robert Myers; a daughter, Carla Callan; a sister, Maria Dant; and her parents. MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA: Alice Nevins, 72, died February 27, 2000 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1927 to Hiram and Ruth Dickey Emmons. She held a degree in English literature from the University of Missouri. She was a longtime teacher at various Marshalltown area schools, and had also been a secretary at her son's insurance agency. Survivors include a daughter, Dara (Vong) Paiseth of Des Moines; a son, Stuart Nevins of Marshalltown; a sister, Betty Emmons of Marshalltown; and 2 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Nevins; her parents; and two brothers, James Emmons and John Emmons. Burial of cremains was at Beree Cemetery in Monroe County, MO.

ADEL, IOWA: Carroll Fred Noland, 89, died September 28, 2004. He was born September 3, 1915 to Fred and Nora Cook Noland. He was a retired self-employed contractor. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a noncombatant soldier. He was a member of the Bear Creek Friends Church in Earlham, and First Friends Church in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Smith Noland; three sons, Joseph Noland and Donald Noland, both of Des Moines, and James Noland of Gilbert; a sister, Wanda Parker of Rockford, IL; a brother, Gail Noland of Carlisle; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. HAWARDEN, IOWA: Nellie Obbink, 89, died January 2, 1996 at the Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden. She was born January 17, 1906 in Hull to Evert and Jeanette Zorgdrager Brunsting. She and her husband farmed near Hawarden. She was a member and former pianist of the Christian Reformed Church. She was a volunteer at the Hass Hillcrest Care Center, and had crocheted various items for the Hawarden Hospital Auxiliary. She was a a 50-year member and past grand officer of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of Daughters of the Nile, the White Shrine, and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She was former chair of the Plymouth County Republican Party, and was an organizer in the 1964 presidential election. She was a former member of the Libertyville Treatment Program Board of Directors, and was a 20-year member and former president of the Le Mars Community School Board. She volunteered as a hotline counselor for victims of domestic violence, and was active with Habitat for Humanity. Survivors include seven children, Cathi Pelelo (Lyndon Ray) of Le Mars, Margaret Ottinger (Matt) of Shelburne, VT, Bob Pelelo (Ann) of Dubuque, Mary Laroco and Mike Pelelo (Diann), all of Sioux City, and Sara Winchester and Steve Pelelo (Jonnie Moon), all of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother, Leland Fagan and his wife (Beverly) of Merrill; a sister, Leona Thorpe of Le Mars; her grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a retired cost accountant for General Mills with 37 years of service. He was a graduate of Rockhurst College in Kansas City, and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a former resident of Kansas City and Minneapolis before relocating to Vinton in 2000. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton. He enjoyed gardening, golfing and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Bergly Sagan; two sons, Nick (Angela) of Vinton, and Tim (Beth) of Cedar Rapids, IA; a sister, Mary Ann (Chet) Korona of Kansas City, KS; and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Jim Saint and Joe Salecki; her parents; a sister, Mary Nelson; and a great-nephew. He was a member of the VFW, and enjoyed ham radio, computers, gardening, fishing, NASCAR, and Raiders football. He was a Christian. MUSCATINE, IOWA: Raymond J. Wendinger, 90, died May 2, 2002 at Unity Hospital. He was born July 7, 1911 in Muscatine to John and Anna Aull Wendinger. He was a retired service manager for Henderson's Chevrolet Oldsmobile, and had formerly worked with his father as a tailor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and William Runyon of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva E. Gardner Wendinger; and two brothers, Frederick and John. Services were held at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery with arrangements by Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.

WETZSTEIN, Rachel Anne
LAKE VIEW, IOWA: Rachel Anne Wetzstein, 88, died February 17, 2004. She was born August 31, 1915 to Dr. Frank and Pearle Cooper Molsberry. She attended the United Church of Christ. She enjoyed golfing, cooking, reading, music, traveling, and tailgating at Iowa Hawkeye football games. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Pam Wetzstein of Bellevue; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Larry Conner of Solon; a sister-in-law, Lois Redenbaugh of Lake View; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a nephew; and her dog, Sugar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland L. Wetzstein; her parents; a sister, Floris Temple; and a nephew, Kirk Temple. Services were held at the United Church of Christ. Interment was at Ferguson Cemetery by Farber and Otteman Funeral Home.

SOUTH AMANA, IOWA: Terry LeRoy White, 65, died December 24, 2007. He was born August 8, 1942 to Keith and Leila Miller White. He was a longtime truck driver, and most recently worked for Bob Trimpe Trucking. Survivors include four children, Jeff (Jamie) White of Woodbridge, VA, Kim (Jeff) Doehrmann of Parnell, Rick (Deb) White of West Jordan, UT, and Scott (Jewel) White of South Amana; a brother, David White of Washington; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements were handled by Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home.

WIATRAK, Sister Florence
DUBUQUE, IOWA: Sr. Florence Wiatrak, BVM, (Ehrentrude) 84, died September 30, 2008 at Caritas Center in Dubuque. She was born August 20, 1924 in Chicago to Leon and Mary Kaczmarek Wiatrak. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1942, making her first vows in 1945 and her final vows on August 15, 1950. She was a school teacher and principal. She served at St. Francis Xavier Elementary, St. Matthew in Phoenix, AZ, and Holy Family High School in Glendale, CA. She was principal at St. Mary in DeKalb and Mary Queen of Heaven, and taught in Chicago at St. Callistus, Our Lady of Angels, Holy Name Elementary, and Cathedral High School. She was a regional representative for the Blessed Virgin Mary congregation, and retired to Wright Hall in Chicago prior to her 2001 move to Mount Carmel. Survivors include a brother, Paul Wiatrak; a sister, Constance Zielinski; and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she lived and served for 66 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Leon, Joseph, John and Clarence Wiatrak. Services were held at the Marian Hall Chapel. Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home.

WIEBOLD, Lillian
BLAIRSTOWN, IOWA: Lillian Anna Wiebold, 86, died March 28, 2007 at Rosehaven Nursing Home in Marengo. She was born September 2, 1920 in South Amana to Martin "Mike" and Evelyn Sandersfeld Heitshusen. She worked at the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana for over 20 years. She attended Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown, and had been active with Ladies' Aid, Vacation Bible School, and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of the Blairstown American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed reading. Survivors include her husband, Gordon Wiebold; a son, Garth Wiebold of Blairstown; and a sister, Genevieve Schumacher of Newhall. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Laura Tschopp; and a brother, Robert Heitshusen. Services were held at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with arrangements by Phillips Funeral Home.

BAXTER, IOWA: Clark Wiedow died March 3, 2004. He was born September 15, 1915. He attended Bethany United Church of Christ. and enjoyed gardening and going to farmers' markets. He played the guitar and harmonica. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie J. and Glenn Jontz of Baxter, and Becky J. and Gary Grossklaus of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Adena Shephard of Stanhope, and Violet Wise of Davenport; a brother, Harold Wiedow of Gurnsey; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjory Wiedow; his parents; and three sisters. Interment was at Restland Cemetery by Wallace Family Funeral Home.

She was a longtime resident of Eldora before moving to Hampton. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eldora. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing and camping. She is survived by several cousins; and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Williamson; and her parents. WINTERSET, IOWA: Keith Ellsworth Wymer died December 18, 2009. He was born October 13, 1917 to Hiram and Susie Johnson Wymer. He was a longtime mechanic at Flynn Dairy. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, NASCAR, dogs, shearing sheep, and gardening. Survivors include his daughters, Phyllis Whitmer (Wayne) of Perry, Carolyn Twogood (Dennis) of Des Moines, Kay Kiral (Bob) of Denton TX, and Jayne Darner (Raymond) and Connie Crane, both of Clive; his sons, Joseph Wymer of Winterset, Larry Wymer of West Des Moines, Don Wymer of Lake Havasu, AZ, William Wymer (Connie) of Spirit Lake, and Jerry Wymer (Sharon) of West Linn OR; 36 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. YANOUSKIY, Nikolay
DES MOINES, IOWA: Nikolay Yanouskiy, 82, died March 16, 2004 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. He was born in Kiev, Ukraine. He served for 29 years in the USSR military as a pilot, and also worked for the government for 31 years. He relocated from the Ukraine to Des Moines in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Rakhil Yanouskiy; a daughter, Irina Yanovskaya (Peter Roytman); a son, Aleksandr Yanouskiy (Toniy); 2 grandchildren; and other relatives, including Anna Lazarevna, Riva Bakaler, Nikolay Lesik, Emmanuil Agranovskiy, and Gregory and Rosa Perchenko. She was a dispatcher at the Monticello Police Department for 23 years, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, and was a sports fan. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ann (Richard) Starks of Monticello, and Dawn Rae (Rusty) McClung of Valdosta, GA; a son, Dayton John Yousse, Jr. II (Loraine) of Cedar Rapids; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton John Yousse, Jr.; her parents; and a brother, George E. Taylor. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Goettsch Funeral Home.

DUBUQUE, IOWA: Norman A. Zeckser, 81, died June 24, 2008. He was born March 14, 1927 to August and Mathilda Zinnel Zeckser. He worked in management and sales at Marshall Field's department store. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a lapidary, and made jewelry. He enjoyed reading, the arts, painting, sculpting, and raising and training show horses. He is survived by two sisters, Verna Zierke of Manson, and Garnita Johnson of Fort Dodge; a brother, Kenneth (Karen) Zeckser of Dubuque; a close friend, Bob Denton of Prescott, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Ellen. Burial was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery by Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home.
