BUCKHEAD, GEORGIA: Audrey DeLoach Alexander, 81, died May 31, 2005. She was born November 19, 1923 to the late George Washington DeLoach and Frances Lenorah Smith DeLoach. She was a former employee of Morgan County Sewing Plant. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended Buckhead Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Lola Gibson (George) of Greensboro; a son, Charles Wayne Alexander (Carmen) of Buckhead; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Sylvester Alexander; and two sons, John Loring Alexander and Joe Marshall Alexander. Services were held at Buckhead Baptist Church. SAVANNAH, GEORGIA: Blaine Barney Allen, 60, died November 22, 2006. He worked for Kerr-McGee. He was a former member of the Springfield United Methodist Church and the Forest City Gun Club, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Joan T. Allen; a daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Flint North of Savannah; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Stephanie Allen of Tybee; a sister, Treva Allen of Guyton; 2 grandchildren; his nieces and nephews; and his dog, Zipper. DEMOREST, GEORGIA: Dollie Roselia Roach Allen, 77, died August 5, 2005. She was born March 9, 1928 in White County to the late John Henry and Dollie Abernathy Garrett. She was of the Pentecostal faith. NORCROSS, GEORGIA: Clara Ampy, 78, died October 16, 2007. She was born April 22, 1929 to Murphy and Willie Moe McGraw Paschal. SMYRNA, GEORGIA: Wassie Apokedak, died August 15, 2007. He was a native of Wasilla, Alaska. He was a commercial fisherman and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. DECATUR, GEORGIA: Dorothy Fredrick Brown Bailey, 85, died November 23, 2005 at Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Decatur. She was the daughter of the late B. Fred and Ruth White Brown, and was a native of Pacolet, SC. She was a graduate of Limestone College, and was a school teacher at Pacolet, Pacolet Mills, and Decatur. She served as a kindergarten director at the First Baptist Church of Decatur. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Freddy and Linda Bailey of Decatur; two brothers, Bobby Brown (Eugenia), and Pete Brown (Barbara); a sister, Carolyn Brown; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, J.C. Bailey. Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Decatur. She and her husband both donated their bodies to Emory University Medical College.
ROME, GEORGIA: N. Helen Baker, 82, died April 20, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born December 31, 1929 in Floyd County, GA to Curtis and Lorene Inez Brewer Baker. She was a 1965 graduate of Berry College with a bachelor's degree in business administration, and was a retired auditor with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with 30 years of service. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, and also attended Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include an aunt, Betty Cannon of McIntosh, AL; her cousins; and her friends. Cremation arrangements were handled by Henderson and Sons Funeral Home.
WAYCROSS, GEORGIA: William Lonnie Barefoot, Sr., 73, died March 30, 1960 in Waycross. He was born March 7, 1887. He was a retired telegraph operator with Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, and had also worked for L&N Railroad in Graceville, FL. Survivors include his wife, Helen D. Barefoot; his daughters, Mrs. Faye (R.F.) Gibson, Mrs. June Schupp, Mrs. J.B. Southwell, and Mrs. Richard P. Mays; a son, W.L. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Brown; and her parents. Services were held February 16, at Galilee Fire Baptized Holiness Church. ATLANTA, GEORGIA: James Gibson Hull, 95, died May 7, 2010 at his home in Atlanta. He was the son of the late Mercer and Byrd Hull. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and earned an M.B.A. degree from Northwestern University. He retired from Merrill Lynch after over 40 years of service as vice-president of the Southeastern Division. He served as a general's aide in the U.S. Army during World War II, and took part in the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Selman Hull; a niece, Robey Frache and her two children; a nephew, Selman Watson; his cousins; and his friends. DALLAS, GEORGIA: George W. McLarty died January 15, 1885. He was born August 30, 1804 in Mecklenburg County, NC. He moved to Georgia in 1832. He was a longtime resident of Doulasville, later moving to Dallas. He was a Mason for 40 years. He had eleven children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Charity Bates McLarty; a daughter; and five sons. Burial was at the Old Villa Rica Cemetery.

She was a retired high school guidance counselor for the Atlanta Public Schools. She was a major benefactor of Spelman College, with her donations to the college surpassing those of any other living alumna. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Dr. Lucius M. Tobin, pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Atlanta and professor of religion at Morehouse College. A memorial service was held at Sisters Chapel on the Spelman College campus. Interment was at Polk Memory Gardens under the direction of Litesey Funeral Home.

EASTMAN, GEORGIA: Charles Richard "Dick" Wilson, 82, died July 20, 2010. He was the son of Charles Ray Wilson and Evelyn Barfield Wilson. He was an aircraft design engineer at Lockheed Martin Marietta with 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marine, and was a graduate of Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy. He attended Antioch #1 Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ymogene Price Wilson; two sons, Rick Wilson (Jennie) of Las Vegas, NV, and Dr. Michael Wilson (Fran) of Fayetteville; a daughter, Jean W. Hitt (David) of Lithia Springs; a brother, James A. Wilson of Chester, SC; a sister, Martha Tedder (Don) of Carrollton; his nieces and nephews; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Burial was at Antioch #1 Baptist Church Cemetery by Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.

Wood, all of Columbus; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Worley of Eloise, FL, and Mrs. Vonnie Tate and Mrs. Essie Smith, both of Columbus; four brothers, Willis Wood, Lee Wood, Ben Wood, and Robert Wood; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Dunn and Mrs. Malvina Elmore; 39 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. CUMMING, GEORGIA: Horace Arthur Worley, 72, died November 28, 2010. He was born June 2, 1938 to Mozelle and Otto Worley. He was a barber. He was a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW. ROME, GEORGIA: Sylvan Wynn, 87, died August 4, 2011 at his home. He was born June 2, 1924 in Disney, KY to the late James Wynn and Annie Ingram Wynn. He retired from the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, IN. He had also worked in coal mines in Virginia and Kentucky, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Pam Wynn of Rome, and Patricia Ridgway of Wickenburg, AZ; a son, Bruce Wynn (Margaret) of Rome; two sisters, Cora Barlow and Lenora Raymer, both of Charlestown, IN; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby E. Wynn; and a daughter, Sonja Nicholson. Interment was at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens under the direction of Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
