She traveled internationally. She was a member of Hatchechubee Baptist Church, and taught children's Sunday School. She was the founder of the Hurtsboro Prayer Band. Survivors include her children, Patricia Jarrett, Steven Fleming, and Caron Livingston; a sister, Alice McDow; a brother, George Chambliss; a daughter-in-law, Gail Craddock; two sons-in-law, Dr. David Jarrett and Lawrence Livingston; a sister-in-law, Barbara Chambliss; 3 grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. JANEWAY, Mother Annunciata
CULLMAN, ALABAMA: Mother Annunciata Janeway, O.S.B., 87, died November 5, 1965. She was the founder of Sacred Heart College in Cullman. She was a native of Wexford, PA, and was born Annie Janeway on March 23, 1879 to Joseph James Thomas and Sarah Alice White Janeway. She was one of nine children. She entered the Benedictine Sisters in 1894, taking the name Sister Mary Annunciata. She held a degree in education from the University of Notre Dame. She was a teacher and principal. She began her teaching career in Florida, and taught schools in the Diocese of St. Augustine. She taught in Alababma Catholic schools for 38 years. She went with four other Benedictine Sisters from Florida to Cullman to work at Sacred Heart School, and made her perptual vows at Sacred Heart Church in 1899. She became mother superior of the Cullman Benedictine community in 1920, and in 1940, became the first president of Sacred Heart College. During the 1950s, she served as novice mistress. She spent 70 years in religious life. Interment was at the convent cemetery.

He was a former school PTA president, and enjoyed gardening. In 1939, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a radio technician first class on the USS Prairie, where he was the last plank owner and the last member of the original crew of the vessel. MIDLAND CITY, ALABAMA: James Oscar Yeomans, 71, died December 31, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Yeomans; his sons, Lynn Yeomans (Dominique) of Ozark, Scotty Yeomans (Lydia) of Midland City, and Teddy Holmes of York, SC; his daughters, Melissa Holmes of Sydney, Australia, and Teressa Colburn and Amanda Green (Ryan), all of Midland City; three brothers, William Yoemans (LaRhonda) of Dothan, and Ted Yeomans (Melba) and Thomas Yeomans (Gloria), all of Midland City; two sisters, Annie Jean Adams (Charles) and Judy Hancock; his nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Yeomans and Myrtle Yeomans; and his first wife, Joy Bryant Yeomans. Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dothan. Interment was at Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

ZADANY, Hilde
FOLEY, ALABAMA: Hilde Selma Zadany, 79, died January 2, 2002. She was a native of Lauscha, Germany. She worked as a registered nurse, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. Survivors include her husband, Andrew Alfred Zadany; a son, Andrew Alan Zadany of South Windsor, CT; a daughter, Anne Carey of Foley; a sister, Marion Tylor of Corning, NY; and 4 grandchildren. Services were held at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Entombment was at Pine Rest Memorial Park by Pine Rest Funeral Home.
